View WebsiteKent Ridge Education (KRTC) is a leading education chain in Singapore with more than 30 centres island-wide. They approached us for a refresh of their old site’s design so that potential clients can access relevant information about their current and upcoming centres more conveniently.

The brief:
There was a need for a new design for KRTC, as their old website was outdated and unattractive to potential customers.
Based on the client’s preferences, my task involved creating a new website that had a clean design and was easy to navigate.
Usage of Elementor for interactivity
The team had started exploring the capabilities of Elementor, an advanced WordPress page builder, to assess its potential for future projects. Using the KRTC website as a testing ground, I improved the interactivity of the site by using the mouse scroll gesture feature.
Creation of assets and/or sourcing of stock images
The client was unable to provide quality images, hence the project manager and I decided to proceed with the design with stock images. After sourcing for images that could complement their contents and branding, I also attempted giving the visuals a more authentic touch and avoid the typical “stock” look by applying subtle modifications to enhance their originality.
Addressing the functional needs of the client
The client requested a new website with specific functions: a payment form and a location map showcasing their centers’ locations.
We were unable to utilise Google Map’s Places API as it was chargeable and hence out of the client’s budget. As they required their centres’ locations to be displayed in a clear and concise manner, I found an alternative Maps plugin. By manually inputting each centre’s latitude, longitude, address, and contact information, we successfully displayed the centers’ locations without incurring any additional costs for the client.
The Outcome
An informative website that caters to both the aesthestic and the functional needs of KRTC Education Hub was created. Utilisation of pastel colours and relevant images ensured that the site was pleasing to the eye.
